Monday Morning Green Smoothie
It is my belief that a healthy lifestyle is one of sustainable healthy habits. I call this my Monday green smoothies because that is when I normally drink smoothies, I am in the mood for something light and healthy after an indulgent Sunday evening. It is may way of telling myself that the weekend is over. I love green smoothies but not enough to drink them daily because I would not be able to sustain that habit. I enjoy chewing my food as much as I enjoy drinking it, health is rooted in balance. Sometimes I alternate and make a raw salad with most of the ingredients listed below.
The addition of tea is to add flavour whilst achieving a juice like consistency, without adding fruit juice as I find it would be too sweet. I would advise you to brew your tea the night before and leave to cool over night or first thing in the morning depending on when you will prepare the smoothie. If you prefer a thicker smoothie then add less liquid or a sweeter smoothie add fruit juice. This recipe is a guide, intuitively cook and cater to your needs , however, I hope this is a source of inspiration.
